Will an Accredited Criminal Justice Program get me a Better Job?

Tip! Looking to make sure a school is accredited is extremely important before enrolling in any of its distance learning programs. There are some “Diploma mills” that provide degrees not even worth the paper they’re printed on, and these are generally correspondence schools, sometimes with only a PO Box as an address.

Most certainly yes! In fact, the flip side is: if you have NOT attended an accredited criminal justice program then the degree you have got after spending a good deal of money and effort is most likely a worthless piece of paper. It is from some “diploma mill” or the other that employers simply don’t recognize.

Attending an accredited criminal justice program is very important. That’s why it is perhaps, the most important thing to check when deciding which criminal justice program to attend. You have to find out whether your school and program is an accredited one or not.

The question is actually deeper than that. You should check whether the criminal justice school you are attending is accredited by one of the eight bodies recognized and authorized by the US Department of Education to do this job. Many schools are accredited by other bodies, but those accreditations are as good as non-accreditations. They are not recognized by employers.

Ultimately, a degree is only as good as the job that it can get you. If employers do not recognize the degree you have then that degree is worthless to you. It cannot get you any job - good, bad or ugly - period. And, if you don’t have any job, there’s no question of a better job - right?

Tip! Accreditation is a validation process employed by associations and institutions of higher learning that checks and evaluates the efficiency of college programs against established standards to ensure a high level of educational quality. This may be done by a formal and extensive review of course descriptions and offerings by faculty members from accredited institutions.

For example, you may get a high-sounding degree from some unknown university accredited by an equally unknown accrediting body. Perhaps, even a PhD in criminal justice management, whatever that may mean! To most employers such a degree is nothing but a piece of worthless paper.

Accreditation is therefore, important. Accreditation guarantees that the school you are attending has been peer reviewed through site visits by a body authorized and recognized by the US federal government to do so. A properly accredited school therefore guarantees a certain minimum standard of education.

Tip! Nic Haffner likes to publish Accredited Online Degree Articles and Information. You can go to the website online-accredited-degrees.

Employers too know that. So, when they see you have attended an accredited school they already know that your degree guarantees that you have a certain minimum skill and knowledge set. They are assured of that and your degree is meaningful to them.

A degree from a school not having proper accreditation is, on the other hand, a meaningless document to employers. It doesn’t guarantee that you know or have a certain minimum knowledge or skill set. Neither do they have the time to go and find out how great your school is although it never felt it necessary to get accredited by bodies that matter.

Tip! Here’s a 5-step guide you should use in researching whether the online MBA program you’re planning to enroll is legitimately accredited.

Bottom line: Don’t even think of attending a non-accredited criminal justice program because the degree that you will earn will be worthless. When you apply for jobs your resume will head for the dustbin rather than the ‘selected’ tray!

Tip! These boards are equally ranked and carry equal preference while stamping the authenticity of a university. Any one regionally accredited college will recognize the degree and credits earned at other regional accredited institution.

If you are studying a common academic subject (Math,
English, or History, for example), your best bet is to make
sure that your school is accredited by one of the six
regional accrediting agencies recognized by the National
Board of Education.

These are the same agencies that grant regular public and
private universities their accreditation. Find out which
state your online program is operating from, and then look
to see what regional agency grants accreditation to that
state. The following agencies are recognized as being
legitimate:

New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
Accredits schools in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Europe, Africa, Asia, and
the Middle East

North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA)
Accredits schools in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois,
Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri,
Navajo Nation, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio,
Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and
Wyoming

Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA)
Accredits schools in Delaware, District of Columbia,
Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico,
US Virgin Islands, Central America, Europe, and the Middle
East

Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS)
Accredits schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky,
Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Latin America

Tip! Looking to make sure a school is accredited is extremely important before enrolling in any of its distance learning programs. There are some “Diploma mills” that provide degrees not even worth the paper they’re printed on, and these are generally correspondence schools, sometimes with only a PO Box as an address.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
Accredits schools in California, Hawaii, Guam, American
Samoa, Palau, Micronesia, Northern Marianas, Marshall
Islands, and other Australasian locations

Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU)
Accredits schools in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada,
Oregon, Utah, and Washington

If you earn a degree from an online school that is
accredited by one of these associations, you can be assured
that it will be as valid as a degree from any regular
university. Most employers will automatically accept your
degree.

If you are pursing a degree in an academic subject and the
school of your choice is not accredited by one of these
institutions, you may want to consider switching schools.

Tip! Nic Haffner likes to publish Accredited Online Degree Articles and Information. You can go to the website online-accredited-degrees.

When enrolling for a criminal justice program, the first thought in your mind is that you should get a good job, or if you are already employed, a good promotion, once you complete the program and get the degree.

All your dreams can come to naught if you have enrolled for a program of a school that is not properly accredited or if it has accreditation from bodies that are themselves not accredited.

Imagine a situation where you have ended up paying thousands of dollars and spending hours on hard work to get a degree from a school that is not properly accredited. You did what you did despite all odds because you thought a college degree will get you that coveted job or promotion.

But if that degree is from a school that is not properly accredited, all you will probably find is a deafening silence. Nobody will be giving any importance to that hard-earned degree. All your efforts will have gone in vain.

If you had obtained the degree to apply for jobs, you will find yourself in an ‘apply, apply, no reply’ situation. No jobs, no promotions! Simply because the degree you have is not recognized, it is not from an accredited school!

Tip! If you were every considering getting a degree to get a different or better job, now is the time to do it. Online accredited degrees are receiving a lot of attention, and before long, they will be considered similar to degrees that are earned in the traditional way.

Okay! Let us assume you were not all that ambitious. All you wanted was an associate’s so that you could get admission to an advanced start or advanced placement bachelor’s degree program of a dream college of your choice. Perhaps, your girl friend is studying there.

But, if that associate’s was from a non-accredited school, then that dream too will be shattered. Your girl friend’s school, if it is a properly accredited one, will simply refuse to recognize your associate’s degree. It will not allow any transfer of credits and it will say that if you really want a bachelor’s degree from our school you will have to go through the full four years of our program - no advanced start for you.

That will mean that you have to join two years junior to your girl friend and that you will have to spend two more years in college even after your girl friend passes out with a bachelor’s.

Why Go For The Accredited HomeSchool Diplomas?

Tip! While all 100 per cent of accredited schools will recognize degrees from other schools accredited by the eight bodies mentioned above, only 30 per cent of accredited schools may accept accreditation from a few other new bodies. But this depends and it is, therefore, a big risk if you are getting a degree from a school not accredited by the eight bodies we have talked about but is instead accredited by some other body.

Accredited homeschool diplomas can give homeschooled children the benefits
of both a high school diploma and a home school education. Even though many
parents believe that they can implement a good education for their child without
being in an accredited home school, in order for a child to have a recognized
diploma in most states, they will need to use and graduate from an accredited
homeschool program.

The accredited homeschool program will provide the child the opportunity to
learn a similar curriculum as public school students. All children need to
learn certain things in order to become productive members in society.
Therefore, homeschooled children need to learn specific curriculum that
everyone else is learning as well.

Tip! Without accreditation, any sub-standard online university can open shop overnight. Actually, there is no need to join an unaccredited university online as there are numerous prestigious accredited universities waiting for your registration.

An accredited home school provides a curriculum to the child that fits with the
state’s standards. It should be recognized that homeschooled children that
are in an accredited home school will have more opportunities available to
them in the future. An accredited homeschool diploma is a recognized
diploma. It is proof of a suitable, credible, and sufficient education. An
accredited home school diploma may be necessary in order to be accepted
into some colleges or to be chosen for a job. This diploma may also be used
to be granted financial aid and/or scholarships.

While most accredited homeschooling programs are not difficult for most
children, the homeschooling program can be made into whatever the parent
would like it to be. They can add to the program as they deem is necessary to
improve upon it.

The accredited homeschool program is created by certified teachers who provide
the insight of a public school curriculum while leaving the actual teaching up
to the parent. The program is put together in such a way as to allow a child
to succeed. The program is designed to hold the child to completing the
necessary coursework in order to graduate. Unless the child can learn what
he or she needs to, the homeschooled child won’t receive an accredited diploma
for advancement.

Tip! The term “accredited” is used quite loosely by a lot of institutions and must not be mistaken for being “chartered,” “licensed,” “registered,” or “pursuing accreditation.” It is best to review the qualifications of the accrediting agencies that have evaluated the institution.

An accredited homeschool diploma is necessary for homeschooled
children. The homeschool program offers the curriculum similar to public schools but, yet,
provides the freedom of homeschooling. It is an asset that is needed if a child wants
to take his/her education and career further in life.

Tip! Learn more about the best accredited distance learning schools at http://www.accredited-online-university.

Why an Accredited Online MBA Program is Worth So Much More

Tip! If you plan to find work using your degree, it is imperative that you get it from an accredited university, as the employers give preference to education received only by accredited institutes. In fact, even if you want to continue your education, you will have a hard time getting accepted by other universities or professional associations if your earlier degrees are not from accredited sources.

An accredited MBA diploma is your entry to a better life, job prospects, and a higher personal satisfaction level. Your MBA diploma prepares you for the work challenges. It also assures prospective employers that you have the educational qualifications and appropriate skills to handle senior managerial responsibilities.

In addition, your diploma from a reputable online MBA program makes you a valuable asset in the work place.

And that’s why it is certainly in your best interests to know what accreditation of online MBA programs means and why this is critical to your prospects for employment.

Where can you get this valuable piece of information? First, access the US Department of Education official website. Although the Department does not conduct these evaluations, it works closely with the various accrediting agencies, on regional and national levels. These accrediting agencies, in turn are the designated authorities who’ll evaluate the quality of education found educational institutions.

Are there online accrediting agencies? Yes, these accrediting agencies apply the same rigorous standards in evaluating whether an online university or college utilizes the proper teaching methods and materials. However, these standards have been modified to answer the particular differences of online educational programs.

Tip! The accredited homeschool program is created by certified teachers who provide the insight of a public school curriculum while leaving the actual teaching up to the parent. The program is put together in such a way as to allow a child to succeed.

Here’s a 5-step guide you should use in researching whether the online MBA program you’re planning to enroll is legitimately accredited.

When you log on to this educational institution’s homepage, check to see if they have advertised their professional membership in an accrediting agency.

Next - double check by going to the accrediting agency’s website. Then access their membership list of accredited schools to see if this educational institution is listed
.

Thirdly, check out the U.S. Department of Education database of Postsecondary Educational Institutions and Programs, to see if the accredited agency is listed.

A fourth source of information the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) website. This is a nongovernmental higher education organization that examines the all the accrediting agencies.

Fifth - conduct research on their faculty. You can access the school’s website and obtain a listing of the faculty. Take time to read up on their professional resumes, and credentials. Are their educational backgrounds and expertise in line with the courses they are teaching?

Make no mistake about this; you must take the initiative in ensuring you graduate from an accredited online MBA program. Alternatively, you will suffer some serious consequences later on.

Tip! Students can earn an accredited high school diploma through traditional on-campus education or distance learning programs offered by various colleges and universities in the United States. Though there are a large number of institutions offering high school diplomas, great care is to be taken before choosing one.

The first less serious consequence you’d get from enrolling in an unaccredited online MBA program is when you change schools and transfer the credits earned. You won’t be able to transfer those earned credits. This means, you have lost a considerable amount of money, time, and resources down the drain.
But by far the worse consequence? You’ll get from graduating from an unaccredited online MBA program, is the serious loss of your present job, future work opportunities, and professional credibility, and the real possibility of jail time.

All because you did not tame the time to educate yourself on selecting an accredited online MBA program.

There is great value in graduating from an accredited online MBA program and immeasurable losses if the online MBA program is unaccredited.

Mansi aggarwal recommends that you visit http://www.ombag.net/2005/12/make_sure_to_ch.html for more information on accredited online MBA program.

What You Need to Know About Accredited Correspondence Schools

Tip! You must remember that not all online degrees are accredited, to be able to offer an accredited online degree a colleges work and teaching methods must be checked and approved by the Board of Education, this means that the degree that is awarded has more weight and is more reputable and of course will be recognized by other institutions should you wish to pursue further education.

Accredited correspondence schools are learning institutions that have been evaluated by an accrediting organization for standards, guidelines and policies relating to academic quality.

Looking to make sure a school is accredited is extremely important before enrolling in any of its distance learning programs. There are some “Diploma mills” that provide degrees not even worth the paper they’re printed on, and these are generally correspondence schools, sometimes with only a PO Box as an address.

In other words, the primary concern with diploma mills is that the degree, certification or credential that they provide to the student for a sometimes large fee will not be accepted by employers, state licensing agencies or even by other schools if transfer of credit is attempted. By attending accredited correspondence schools, you avoid the risk of paying for a worthless diploma.

If you are attempting to obtain federal grants or loans for tuition expenses, it is essential to look for accredited correspondence schools. This is true for some state financial aid programs as well. Employer tuition reimbursement programs usually require that the school be accredited. In order to obtain a state license in some professional fields, school accreditation is required. It is always safest to enroll in accredited correspondence schools or educational programs.

Tip! An accredited home school provides a curriculum to the child that fits with the state’s standards. It should be recognized that homeschooled children that are in an accredited home school will have more opportunities available to them in the future.

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) provides accreditation information on colleges and universities and on accrediting organizations. Seventeen of these accrediting organizations review distance learning schools. The CHEA recommends that you contact the administrators of the facility you are considering and ask for their accreditation credentials; date accreditation received, date of last review, name of accrediting organization, etc.

If it is not one of the accredited correspondence schools, the CHEA recommends that you ask about the transferability of credits and courses to other colleges or universities and the acceptance of credits and courses by licensing bodies and employers.

There are sometimes explanations for a lack of accreditation, since the accreditation process is a lengthy one, so it may not be necessary to rule out a school that is not one of the accredited correspondence schools listed by the CHEA or another accrediting organization, but be certain to obtain references from previous students, faculty, employers in your field or state licensing boards.

Tip! The first less serious consequence you’d get from enrolling in an unaccredited online MBA program is when you change schools and transfer the credits earned. You won’t be able to transfer those earned credits.

Tip! However, it is important to make sure that your program is accredited. It does you no good to earn a degree from a fly-by-night program that leaves you with a degree or certification that no one will recognize and is only as valuable as the paper it is printed on.

To put it succinctly, the difference between an accredited criminal justice school and a non-accredited one is while the degree you get from the former is valuable and can get you a job, a degree form the latter is worthless and is unlikely to get you anywhere.

Tip! Learn more about the best accredited distance learning schools at http://www.accredited-online-university.

Undoubtedly, therefore, one of the most important considerations at the time of deciding which criminal justice school to go to is whether the school is accredited or not. Of course, there are problems here because there is something called institutional accreditation and programmatic accreditation. If a school is institutionally accredited then the entire school is accredited and all its programs are accredited too. But if a school has opted for programmatic accreditation then some of its programs may be accredited while the rest may not be. For example, a school’s technology programs may be accredited but its criminal justice program may not be accredited. So, when checking for accreditation you have to make sure that either the entire school is accredited or that at least its criminal justice program is accredited.

Tip! Education Online provides detailed information on Education Online, Continuing Education Online, Online College Education, Online Accredited Education and more. Education Online is affiliated with eLearning Companies.

Accreditation is primarily concerned with checking whether a school or its program is maintaining certain minimum academic standards or not. It is done by a host of bodies but the US Dept of Education grants funding to only six regional accrediting bodies and 2 others that are spin-offs of two out of the six RA bodies. Hence, accreditation by any of these eight agencies is what you should look for.

Each of these eight accrediting bodies has a specified jurisdiction. They are authorized by the US Dept of Education to grant accreditation to schools falling within their jurisdiction. Hence, if a school wants to get accreditation it must approach the accreditation body that has the authority to grant it accreditation.

Degrees from accredited schools are accepted and recognized throughout the country. If you want to transfer from one school to another and want to transfer credits earned in your previous school to your new school, then accreditation helps. If your new school is an accredited one, it will allow transfer of only those credits earned in another accredited school. If the credits you have earned are from a non-accredited school they cannot be transferred.

Tip! The term “accredited” is used quite loosely by a lot of institutions and must not be mistaken for being “chartered,” “licensed,” “registered,” or “pursuing accreditation.” It is best to review the qualifications of the accrediting agencies that have evaluated the institution.

Just as accredited schools do not recognize degrees and credits earned from non-accredited schools, so do employers. Employers do not recognize degrees earned from schools not accredited by any of the eight bodies authorized by the US Dept of Education. Such degrees are thus, worthless pieces of paper.

Accrediting bodies review the accreditation granted to schools periodically. A full- scale site visit review happens every ten years with 5-year progress reports in between. These are peer review site visits and very stringent - a school must really be up to standard to get accreditation. This means a certain minimum standard of education is guaranteed if you enroll in an accredited school. A non-accredited school doesn’t guarantee anything at all.

Tip! Students can earn an accredited high school diploma through traditional on-campus education or distance learning programs offered by various colleges and universities in the United States. Though there are a large number of institutions offering high school diplomas, great care is to be taken before choosing one.

Tip! An accredited bachelor degree is recognized all over the world regardless of whether it was earned online or in a traditional classroom setting. So you need not worry about the authenticity of the online university degree programs.

While a great many individuals dream of getting a degree, it is sometimes seemingly impossible to interrupt your career and or family life to go back to school. Many of us, of course, have jobs and find that the traditional schedules offered by community colleges and universities often make it impossible for us to juggle our schedules to attend. Or perhaps we have family members, kids more than likely, that we simply must dedicate our time to. These are the very things that are making online college courses ever so more attractive. And don’t think for a second that the colleges and universities across the country aren’t recognizing this and responding in kind.

A great alternative for the person who desires to attend college classes is to go the route of an online accredited degree. This is a degree from a college or university with accreditation, which means it meets the state’s guidelines and is deemed to be every bit as credible as a brick-and-mortar earned degree.

The programs offered in the form of online degrees very greatly. It is advised that anyone pursuing this avenue of higher learning do their homework and learn as much as they possibly can before making their decision as to which classes to pursue. There is ample information to be had, so by all means request as much as you feel is necessary to obtain the information that you’re after. We must remember that there are so many degrees offered through the online accreditation process that your choices are becoming ever more diversified. Degree levels include Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorates.

Tip! While most accredited homeschooling programs are not difficult for most children, the homeschooling program can be made into whatever the parent would like it to be. They can add to the program as they deem is necessary to improve upon it.

The advantages to getting an online degree are virtually endless. You do not have to commute and there is no need to schedule classes and reshuffle your life around someone else’s schedule. The only thing you really have to do is be on yourself to stay disciplined to get your work done.

Tip! Learn more about the best accredited distance learning schools at http://www.accredited-online-university.

I will again repeat what I said earlier because of its great importance. It is absolutely paramount that you make sure that the degree that you are pursuing and the classes that you are taking are indeed accredited. There’s nothing worse than wasting your time and money taking classes that you will not get credit for, unless of course you are doing it for your own edification.

If you were ever considering getting a degree to improve your chances of landing a job, or getting paid more, or even to perhaps change careers completely, now is the time to do it. The future is promised to no one and now with the advantages of online accredited degrees, there really is no excuse for not pursuing these wonderful opportunities. Most of these online classes are delivered by way of computer. Don’t be intimidated by this if you are not computer savvy. A simple computer and Internet connection will be more than enough to get you through. So now you know. No excuses, get out there and get it done.

The Answer to Retraining in Today’s Busy Workforce: Accredited Online College Degrees

Tip! To be able to take an online degree all you require is a high school diploma or equivalent qualification, normally that there are no other entry requirements. However do make sure that any online educational institution you are considering are fully accredited and that the tutorial staff has the relevant experience required in the area you wish to study.

Many of us dream of one day earning our college degree, how ever it can seem a long ways away to many of us for many reasons. With so many of us have a career, family and personal life to tend to it doesn’t seem possible that we could ever find the time to go back to college or university. It’s obvious that most universities and community colleges don’t plan their class schedules around the working world, making it darn near impossible for you to juggle your current life and commitments while attending classes. Now there is an upside to all this negativity on the topic. Schools are starting to take notice that there is a growing need for retraining and college degree programs that are workable for adults, and full time working individuals.

So what is this great alternative to attending a brick and mortar college in your local area? Accredited online degree programs. What the heck is that I suppose you’re wondering, it’s a degree that’s offering from a university or college that has been accredited and meets the states guidelines and rules to provide a degree program recognized the same as one taken at a college or university off line.

Tip! Undoubtedly, therefore, one of the most important considerations at the time of deciding which criminal justice school to go to is whether the school is accredited or not. Of course, there are problems here because there is something called institutional accreditation and programmatic accreditation.

There is a wide variety of programs available as online degrees. For anyone considering enrolling for secondary education you should take time to research the different classes, programs, and schools offering accredited degrees. There is more then enough information available from websites and the schools themselves. Take the time to request some free information from a few schools that offer the program you’re interested in. You’ll find that almost every degree level is available from an associates degree right up to earning your PhD.

The obvious advantage of earning your accredited degree online is that you will not need to commute to lectures of campuses, nor will you need to reschedule you’re current lifestyle. While you will need to find a new level of discipline to ensure you get the work done the benefits far out weigh the sacrifices that need to be made.

Tip! Katie Robbins is a professional writer, providing content to help the online student. Check out her other articles, including accredited online universities, master degree education online and criminal justice online degrees.

Now just to re-iterate the most important thing we’ve covered here, it’s of utmost importance that when you’re considering a degree to enroll in that the program is accredited. Otherwise you are wasting your time and money towards something that will be worth nothing at the end of your program. A class that is no accredited is worth nothing other then the time spent doing the course work.

Now is the time to take action, the online education market is growing approximately 40% each year. If you ever wanted to get that edge in your job for the next big promotion, or possibly improve your odds of landing that dream career take action now. Online accredited college degrees give you the edge on other employees and potential employees you will compete against for jobs. The ease of handling course work, and doing all activities when and where is convenient for you should be enough to make you take the plunge to enroll. There’s no new computer skills needed if you found this article you handle the course work. Programs often start at the beginning of each month, so don’t procrastinate life won’t wait. Start your research today, and begin requesting information about the programs that interest you.

Tip! An accredited home school provides a curriculum to the child that fits with the state’s standards.
Tip! If you are prepared to put the work in your may be able to complete your online accredited degree in a very short time, alternatively if you wish you could take things at a much more leisurely pace so allowing you time to pursue your job or other family commitments.

Students who prefer quality online education seek accredited courses. Accreditation is the process of issuing official approval to an educational program or institution after proper verification by the authorities. Accreditation is intended to ensure quality education. Accredited online education will enable you to earn a high-quality degree without any constraints. This form of education is most suited for busy professionals and business people who need an authentic degree for the enhancement of their career. An accredited online course guarantees quality education that may take you to a world of opportunities without the aid of traditional institutions.

Tip! All because you did not tame the time to educate yourself on selecting an accredited online MBA program.

Accreditation enhances the credibility and reliability of an online course. It is safer for students to go for an online educational program accredited by any of the accrediting organizations, as many employers prefer accredited degrees. Some of the major accrediting agencies of the United States’ Department of Education are the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSA), Northwest Association of Schools and of Colleges and Universities (NASC), and Higher Learning Commission of North Central Region (NCA). These agencies follow specific evaluation criteria for accrediting a program or institution. While joining an international program, make sure that the program is accredited by the ministries of education or other governmental departments of the respective country.

There are thousands of universities, regular colleges, and online colleges providing accredited online programs in various disciplines. While choosing an online program, one has to bear in mind that accreditation is the criterion for the authenticity and credibility of a course. This prevents one from being cheated by fake programs and bogus institutions.

Tip! Immigrants into the United States may very often not have a high school diploma or the ones they already have may not be acceptable. Such individuals may earn an accredited high school diploma from a genuine provider.
